 "First race ever, made me eager for more" (about: 2014)
First Marathon
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 5 This was my first race ever; I was impressed by the information provided, which was clear and helped me navigate the unfamiliar territory leaving very few questions (most to do with terms of art I was unfamiliar with, such as 'corrals'). It was such a good experience it made me eager to do more races in the future. My only issue was that after learning what corrals were, even though they were promised they did not seem to materialize when the race started. | |

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was an awesome race. It was my third 1/2 marathon. None even come close to this! Great crowd support, course, swag, & the Finish Festival was amazing! I can't wait to do it again next year. | |

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 3 Overall better than expected for an inaugural race! My only complaint was the lack of start corrals. The roads were quite small and many runners (including myself) had to run on the grass and sidewalks to get around walkers and slower paced runners that started near the start line. Corrals based on pace entered during registration would have made for a smoother start with fewer areas of congestion through parts of the course. | |

First Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was my first time to Lafayette, my first time doing a half marathon and first race. I couldn't have been more impressed! Loved the course, the expectators, the volunteers, the supporters...THE OFFICERS, the after party, the food!!!! The list is endless!!! FUNNEL CAKES at the end of a race was THE icing on the cake. There's nothing that could've been done better!!! | |

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was my first half marathon, but I have run in many 10k races. For an inaugural event, I expected some glitches and a little 'thrown together feel.' NOT THE CASE! This was a superbly organized and heartwarmingly supportive event. The course was fun and varied and the spectators and police support was AMAZING!!! Can't wait for next year! | |

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Loved the race! I wouldn't change anything. My only complaint is not getting a professional picture of us with our medals after the race. There may have been area set up for that, but I never could find it possibly due to crowds in the holding area or not in an area easily seen. It should be set up close to the finish area. Also, after the race in the holding area was very crowded. I wish there could have been someone pushing the runners toward the festival. | |

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 I ran the half at Zydeco. I loved the course! It was mostly flat with some rolling hills. Traffic around the course was very, very well controlled. Spectators were great, water stops almost every mile. Finish line festival was awesome, with lots of music & lots of free Cajun food! I will definitely be back next year! | |

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 I did the half, and as a slow walker, was excited to cheer marathoners that passed me with the double loop configuration. Volunteers were plentiful (every single turn) and enthusiastic, as we're the police officers manning all the intersections. Plenty of water stops, great finish line party, and nice flat course! |
