Great job on a first year race. Well stocked water stops, interesting route and enthusiastic volunteers. The medical staff provided by Scott & White were excellent. One of them made sure I made it to my husband after having balance issues at the finish line. The race actually started on time.

I don't need 1000 words to explain this! It was simply perfect!

This was a great event. THe organization was good. I especially appreciated the easy parking and nice hotel arrangements since I was traveling from out of town.

"Very well organized with a friendly spirit" (about: 2011)

This event was so well organized down to every detail, from the inspirational facebook group, quick responsiveness from the event organizer leading up to race day, the pasta dinner, the parking, the entertainment, the refreshment stations, the supporters with hilarious posters, the medals (very unique!!), etc. A friendly spirit was shared between runners, volunteers, supporters, and the community (even people in traffic waiting patiently for runners to cross streets) with words of encouragement and 'thank you's' exchanged throughout the race. The course itself was smooth and fast with a great downhill towards the finish. Overall, this was a great event and I would highly recommend it!

"Great job!" (about: 2011)

First Marathon
COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 4  FANS: 4

This was my first half. I was very impressed with how organized everything was. Thinking about the amount of preparation needed to simply have all the street closures run smoothly makes my head hurt. The police and fans were great. I was also very impressed about how the organizers went out of their way to let the community know this was going on and that the organizers really encouraged spectators to come out and cheer. As a runner, this helped a ton. The only thing I would change is possibly having more frequent water/first aid stations in the last few miles. There were not many people of any kind (spectators, water stations, first aid, etc.) there near the end outside of the police directing traffic and the occasional corps member. Those last few miles were definitely where I was hurting the most and needed the pick-me-up/hydration. All-in-all a great experience though!

We can tell you put a lot of effort into making sure this was a good experience for everyone. This will definitely be a yearly run for me! Couple suggestions 1) have pace runners, I kept hearing runners asking each other for pace 2) more running vendors, I love to shop for new running things and having many vendors at one location helps a lot. Otherwise no complaints, great job to everyone involved!!

"So inspiring running through my hometown!" (about: 2011)

Growing up in College Station and also a big runner, I was so excited to hear about a big race in my hometown! The course was amazing and highlighted some of College Stations greatest attractions. As a student at TAMU, I loved running through campus and running past the building my department is located in!
