Human Interest Story

Bill Francis, Kaysville marathoner, said he liked the old course of the  Deseret Morning News/KJZZ-TV Salt Lake City Marathon better, but was pleased with his 15th place time of 2:54.30. Francis survived a near fatal accident in 1999 when he was hit by a truck while running on U.S. 89. He is grateful to be able to run the race at all.

Jonathan Ndambuki set a new course record in this weekend's Deseret Morning News/KJZZ-TV Salt Lake City Marathon. He was defending a record time of 2:24:49, and beat his own record with a finishing time of two hours, 16 minutes, and 7.8 seconds.
