First Marathon

This was such a beautiful course and well taken care of. The medals and shirts were beautiful and for my first marathon I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I couldn't of asked for a better race to run my first marathon! Besides the slight hiccup at the start, everything afterwards went so smoothly. I love Big Cottonwood Canyon and I couldn't think of picking any other race for my first. Go Big!

I loved the scenic downhill course. I have a hard time with a lot of marathon endings because they loose a lot of the excitement. Cottonwood did not disappoint however, it took us through some great parts of the city and keep me going!

It was my first marathon and I didn't train as well as I should have. And I still haven't gotten back to my 'normal' because of the fact that my knee hurts every time I run. I loved how the aid stations were spaced, but I wish that they were EXACTLY on the mile marker. Just to help me know I have at mile __.

The Canyon of course was beautiful. I guess it was the last bit of the marathon that I hated. I felt like Highland Dr. was so long for me.

Jefferson Muhn from North Salt Lake, UT (11/24/2013)
"Best, fastest Marathon I've ever run." (about: 2013)

I ran this race in preparation for the St. George Marathon and did better on Big Cottonwood than St. George. I plan to run this race again and beat the 3 hour mark. I loved the free photos and swag even before the race. The shirt was my best shirt all year and I ran 5 halfs, 2 fulls, and a relay race. It may become a tradition.

David Crawford from Draper Utah (11/24/2013)
"Great fun and great course." (about: 2013)

I ran 5 marathons this year and several on the Wasatch Front the past 5 years. One of the best organized and fun courses I have ever run. This course was great for all level of runners.
