I have run the BC marathon the past 2 years, got my PR this last year and I love the race! Cold at the top but gorgeous course with great aid stations and fun spectators.

Outstanding marathon from start to finish! I had no idea how hammered my legs would be for a week after..Having said this, I definitely will run this one again, but train for the downhills. I want to BQ for next year! :-) This is a great marathon to use as training for St George too, I nearly BQ'd at St George this year in part because I ran this a month before. This race will be a mainstay in my yearly marathon achievements.

"city part tough, buses got stuck" (about: 2013)

First Marathon
COURSE: 3  ORGANIZATION: 3  FANS: 4

I loved this marathon as it was my first. But the city part of the course was very long and traffic was significant on the busy streets. The buses got stuck delaying the race, which made those of us waiting at the top in the cold significantly longer then others.

"Pretty good job. One of the best in Utah." (about: 2013)

I think it's better than TOU and competitive with St George. I love the downhill and the scenery is awesome. I'd prefer starting at Guardman Pass though.

"The most beautiful Marathon in Utah" (about: 2013)

Even though there was some delays in getting to the Start, Everything worked out great. I was in the last bus and still had plenty of time to get ready when we got to the start.

"Fastest and most scenic course I have ever run" (about: 2013)

I have run 33 marathons. This was by far the fastest course. The downhills were manageable, and the scenery in the first 16-17 miles was terrific. No spectator crowds like Boston, but it was nice to run in the silent canyon.

Jennifer Richards from Orem, Utah (12/2/2013)
"most scenic course" (about: 2013)

Loved the first 17 miles of this course. Even though the downhill killed my legs, it was so worth it. The race directors handled the high centered bus situation very well.
I LOVED running through the canyon. Felt so at peace and helps you feel gratitude for the amazing surroundings.

"Perfect race for the less than avid runner!" (about: 2013)

3 previous marathons | 1 Big Cottonwood Marathon

This is a beautiful, fast, downhill course. The perfect race for the less-than avid runner. Staff and organizers were great to work with every step of the way. Having a liberal cancellation policy was a real comfort for someone who is just hoping to get to race day prepared and uninjured.

"Course was okay rest could use some work." (about: 2013)

Course was okay a little steep at first and the rolling hills after the canyon were a killer. The mileage seemed to be mismarked which threw me off trying to keep track of where I was at. Also the aid stations seemed to be infrequent need to keep them at regular intervals. We didn't need the one just a half mile into the course it could have been used better later on in the course. The busses probably would have done better with the turn an hill at Brighton if they had of gone up to Brighton and then approached the road up the hill from there. The drop bag pick up was a little disorganized but the volunteers were trying the best they could to help out. That was one good thing all of the volunteers were trying to do the best they could (probably a little more instruction could have helped out).
