Confident Badza romps to marathon victory (Buffalo News)
As Shingirai Badza, a native of Zimbabwe, stood at the starting line of Sunday's fifth annual Casino Niagara International Marathon, he was sure of two things. He was right on both counts. 2:27:53.5 got him first place over Stephane Gamache of Ottawa, but it did not get him the $10,000, which he casually claimed would have helped. Cindy Keeler won in the women’s race with a time of 2:50:18.3, and adding on to her list of athletic events she seems to be mastering these days.
