   Walkway Marathon Race Series will return next June; new one-mile race added for runners with disabilities (NewPaltzx.com)
The inaugural Walkway Marathon Race Series spanning Walkway Over the Hudson this past June was a success; so much so that plans have already been made to bring it back next year. The three-race event in 2015  a newly minted marathon and half-marathon joined together with the already established Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club (MHRRC) Treetops to Rooftops 5K  brought more than 2,500 runners to the region from 32 states and six countries, attracting an estimated 10,000 spectators.

   Walkway Marathon to return in June, adds fourth race (Poughkeepsie Journal)
After a well-received debut this past June, the Walkway Marathon Race Series will be held again in June 2016, and runners can begin registering on Dec. 3, according to Elizabeth Waldstein-Hart, executive director of Walkway Over the Hudson.

Garrett Burger of New York was the overall marathon winner with a time of 2:57:36. Second and third place men were local boys David Swift of Poughkeepsie with a time of 3:00:40 and Adam Dicaprio of Poughkeepsie with a time of 3:00:57.

Burger won the mens marathon in 2 hours, 57 minutes and 36 seconds. Rebecca Trachsel, of Winchester, Massachusetts, won the women's marathon race in 3:13.48.
