Marc LeBlanc won the Tucson Marathon with a time of 2 hours 35 minutes and 47 seconds while Polly Campbell of Tucson won the women's division with a time of 2 hours 49 minutes and 24 seconds.

Mike DiGennaro and fiancee Lauren Burawski won the marathon in their categories, their first time running the distance. DiGennaro, 27, won in 2:28:16. He took the overall lead in the 20th mile from six-time champion and favorite Bassirima Soro, who was slowed by a hamstring injury and ultimately pulled out.

   Soro wins fourth straight Tucson Marathon crown (Tucson Citizen)
Bassirima Soro's and Wilson Getiha had an interesting time battling each other down Tucson Marathon's difficult downhill slope, but in the end, someone had to win. Soro (Ivory Coast) took victory in a time of 2:20.38, while Getiha (Kenya) came in almot two minutes later in 2:22.21. Susan Loken (Phoenix) took victory in the women's race in 2:44:19, her PR, which she had no challenge getting after mile 20 of the race.

Roger Shanley is running his 16th Tucson Marathon and is dedicating it to his father, Tom, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Shanley senior (now 50) was always known as 'Marathon Man,' with a long list of marathons he ran during his lifetime, and now his son Rodger hopes to continue that legend. He is off to a good start with a PR of 2:40.15, and has competed in almost 50 marathons, including Boston, New York, Chicago and Honolulu.
