		Rono repeats, pushing pace in final miles in Ocean State Marathon (The Providence Journal) 32 year old Kenyan Elly Rono won his second Ocean State Marathon in two years. In a steady drizzle Rono's winning time was 2:14:48. Using a much feared hill near the end of the course to his advantage Rono made his push there. He pulled ahead of James Karanja and Gilbert Rutto to finish strong.

Elly Rono of Kenya took the men's title for the second straight year, finishing in 2:14:48.

		Affairs of the heart run their course in Ocean State Marathon (Providence Journal) Igor Osmak and Olga Kovpotina, a married couple from the Ukraine, won the men's and women's races, respectively. Osmak, 35, first trounced a strong field of Kenyan runners, finishing in a course-record 2 hours, 14 minutes, 24 seconds. Just under 24 minutes later, his wife Kovpotina, 29, led three other Russian women over the finish line in 2:37:53 en route to for her first marathon victory.
