Keith Straw said that he doesn't get paid to run the marathon so he might as well have fun as he completed the 26.2 mile race in a pink tutu and leotard.

More than 18000 runners will flood the street of Philadelphia this weekend and thanks to SAI-Timing their loved ones and spectator will be able to view each runners progress on the internet. The timing company will use satellites to track each runners progress at roughly every three mile mark.

Timothy Psitet ran with his training partner, Solomon Too until mile 25 when Too weakened and Psitet continued on for the victory in 2:25:01. Too finished second in 2:26:03. Kristin Price won the women's divisition in 2:42:05 to qualify for the Olympic Trials marathon in Boston in April.

Casey Byrne will run in the Philadelphia Marathon with intentions to qualify for the Olympics. "Coach (Joe Puleo) is going to make me run as fast as I can," Byrne said. "Even if I go out there and fall apart." At 37 Byrne has already won the Hi-Tec National title, a series of team races, she also swims, kayaks and does just about every other punishing athletic activity a person can choose, including 7 years as a professional mountain biker.

Ugali is a common dish in Kenya, which Sarric learned about on a training trip to Kenya before taking second place in her first offical race -Philadelphia Marathon in 2000. "I enjoy the sport, I enjoy the people I've met through it. It's part of who I am," Sarric claimed as she prepared the corn meal. And with a height of 5 foot 3 inches, a goal-time of 2:40 this year, her Kenyan-born Philadelphia resident friends agree.

Brian Clas won Sunday's Philadelphia Marathon in 2:18:03, breaking the course record by a full minute and leaving his nearest competition a full five minutes behind him. Clas and Elvira Kolpakova, winner of the women's race, each collected $2,500.

Track runner Brian Clas took the lead at 8 miles in the Philadelphia Marathon and by mile 20 had a lead of several minutes, finishing the Nov. 19 race in 2:18:03. Russia's Elvira Kolpakova was the top woman in 2:41:56 after dueling it out for the first 20 miles.

Tesfaye Bekele finished the course in 2 hours, 25 minutes, 46 seconds. That left him nearly three minutes ahead of the second-place finisher. In the women's race, Anne Marie Lauck, 30, of Hampton, N.J., placed 11th overall and paced the women in 2:37:59.

The marathon began at 8:30 a.m., in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where it also ended. About 5,000 runners participated, more than in previous years. An additional 1,000 runners participated in an eight-kilometer (almost five-mile) race that began a half-hour later. Crowds of friends, relatives and onlookers cheered the runners.
