   Mt. Nittany Conservancy Marathon tests runners physical and mental strength (Collegian.psu.edu)
The Mount Nittany Marathon is one of the last Boston Marathon qualifiers on the East Coast. One of the participants to finish first came from as far as Arkansas to run the course around Mt. Nittany.

   Prokop to defend Mount Nittany Marathon course record (CentreDaily)
Prokop, of Huntingdon, will have to again beat the women who finished second and third in 2014 on Sept. 6, because Mary Kreis from Belle Vernon and Becky Wittrig from Port Matilda are signed up again. Also expected to be in the running is Kathy Koetje-Simin, who won the inaugural 2013 event, finishing in 3:32:15 in sweltering heat. On the mens side, none of the top three finishers from last year will be running.

About one minute before the start of the Mount Nittany Marathon the skies opened up with rain and soaked runners on the course. The rain kept temperatures well below the 85 degrees of last year's race
