More than six-thousand runners ran through the streets of Lawrence Indiana for the Indianapolis Marathon. Josh Bland of Chicago won the race with a time of 2 hours 38 minutes and 7 seconds.

Illinois Man Wins Indy Event

Erik Bush, a 39-year-old from Flora, Ill., won the Indianapolis Marathon at Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park in 2 hours, 34 minutes, 46.5 seconds.

Indianapolis Marathon Organizers Delay Debut Race

The event will be pushed from Sept. 8 to Nov. 3. A posting on the event website says the combination of competing events and the threat of warmer-than-expected temperatures make the original date unfeasible.
