That is all it took for Sammy Nyamongo, of Marietta, to win the 26.2-mile marathon with a time of 2:33.44. Allison Dublinski , of Atlanta, collected her 750 dollar prize as the top women's finisher, crossing the line at 2:53.52.

Alpharetta Marathon returns this weekend(The Atlanta Journal-Constitution) More than one thousand runners calling Ohio, Wisconsin, New Jersey and Missouri will line up for the second annual Alpharetta Marathon this Sunday at 7 am. The event kicks off Alpharetta's 150th Anniversary and prizes to the pace of $150 dollars will be doled out during the day.

Alpharetta Marathon and Half Marathon Set to Run: March 2, 2008(The Weekly Online) The 2nd Annual Alpahretta Marathon will begin at 7 am on March 2, 2008. This will mark Alpharettas 2008 Sesquicentennial Celebration. Along with a $4,000 dollar prize purse to include age group winners, special monetary prizes will go to the 150th person across the half way point and the finish line. The Boston Qualifying course will feature musicians and local bands.
