Spinx Run Fest will go on, even if it rains

Rain predicted for the Upstate later this week could help replenish drought-stricken Lake Hartwell, while soaking hundreds of runners in downtown Greenvilles Spinx Run Fest Marathon.
Forecasters called for an 80-90 percent chance of rain on Friday and 20 percent on Saturday. Race director Ron Chappell said the marathon will move forward regardless of rain.

Greenville athletes farewell at Spinx RunFest Marathon

The Greenville SpinX RunFest events included a marathon, half-marathon, 5K run and a kids fun run. The days events were highlighted by Chuck Engles win in the marathon in 2 hours 41 minutes and 11 seconds. Engle, from Columbus, Ohio, rounded the stadiums back field and crossed the finish line just behind home plate. His comfortable completion of 26.2 miles, beating Greenvilles Kevin Moseller (2:50:54), was flashed on the giant screen at Fluor Field.
