		Age not a winning factor at beach marathon (The Galveston County Daily News) The top three spots at the Surf City Marathon were earned by masters runners. Rick Autrey, 46, winning in three hours, 10 minutes and 46 seconds was followed closely by Canadian Ed Bickley, 49, who finished in 3:12:22. Last years masters champion, Ed Sturdivant of Missouri took third place honors. The womens winner won her debut marathon at Surf City proving that experience may not be necessary.
		Hundreds of local runners hit the beach at Surfside Beach Marathon. (The Facts) The warmer than normal weather conditions did not slow down Rick Autry, 46, of Nacogdoches. He finished first in the male marathon competition in 3:03:10, 13:45 faster than he finished last years race. Autry who has been training and running ultra's to prepare for this years race seemed to enjoy the warmer conditions along the beach.
