Michigan woman beats age in Akron Marathon win

Sarah Plaxton, 40 of Highland, Michigan, took the womens lead early and held it for the entire length of the 26.2 mile race, winning in 2 hours 57 minutes and 56 seconds.Oxana Khokhlova of Cincinnati was second in 2 hours 59 minutes and 17 seconds. The men's winner was Birhanu Wukaw Zeleke, a native of Ethiopia who lives in Washington, D.C. Wukaw pulled ahead of last years winner, Joshua Koros of Byron Center, Michigan, 14 miles into the race to win in 2 hours 23 minutes an 13 seconds. Koros was second in 2 hours 26 minutes and 29 seconds.
