Ethiopia's Debele Lemma Wins Marrakech International Marathon

Siyoum Debele Lemma, of Ethiopia, ran 8 seconds faster than the 2007 winning time by Samy Chumba,of Kenya, (2:10.56). Lemma won the 19th Marrakech International Marathon on Sunday. His fellow countrywoman Yeshi Esayias won the women's race in 2:35.40 easily outdistancing her compatriot by nearly 13 minutes.

Ethiopian Double at the Marrakech Mmarathon

Ethiopians had a double triumph at the 2008 International Marrakech marathon. Siyoum Debele Lemma won the mens race in 2:10:48 and Yeshi Esayias won the womens race in 2:35:40. It was the nineteeth running of the marathon.
