Foreign Runners Dominate Melbourne Marathon
(China Post) Asnake Fekadu of Ethiopia won the mens race and Mai Tagami of Japan the womens event at the Melbourne Marathon on Sunday. Fekadu finished the mens race in 2 hours, 17 minutes. Josphat Mwangi of Kenya, also the runner-up last year, was second, and Yared Mekonnen of Ethiopia third. Tagami won the womens race in 2 hours and 38 minutes.

Lee Troop takes on Ethiopians in epic Melbourne Marathon
(Herald Sun) Lee Troop was slated to retire after the Beijing Olympic Marathon but has arrived in Melbourne to challenge three Ethiopians for the prize in the Melbourne Marathon. Asnake Fekadu, who set his personal best of 2:10.26 in Italy last year, has the best time entering the Melbourne race. He finished eighth in Dubai in January behind world record-holder Haile Gebrselassie.
