Police take blame for Raleigh Marathon gaffe
(Raleigh News and Observer) The Raleigh police in charge of directing runners during Sunday's marathon apologized for misdirecting runners, a mistake that cut the distance and times for the leaders.
While the problem probably did not affect the order of finishing, it may impact whether some of the misdirected runners qualify for the Boston Marathon.
