   Amish Man Runs Marathon in Just Over Three Hours  While Dressed in Traditional Clothing (People.com)
Earlier this month, Stolzfus, who lives in Gordonville, Pennsylvania, ran the Harrisburg Marathon while wearing his traditional Amish clothing, PennLive reports. He crossed the finish line after three hours, five minutes and 45 seconds, and wore a long-sleeved button-down shirt, slacks and suspenders for all 26.2 miles.

   Runners take on new Harrisburg marathon course (FOX43.com)
It seems a Cumberland County couple was able to break past that "wall." Fred and Shelby Joslyn of Mount Holly Springs took the top spots in the overall winners circles. 31-year-old Fred finished with a time of 2:30:44 while Shelby crossed the finish line at 3:11:02. Brooke Magni of Lancaster wasn't too far behind-- she snagged the third place in the female group with a time of 3:12:26.

   Fred Joslyn, wife Shelby Joslyn run to Harrisburg Marathon titles (Penn Live.com)
Fred Joslyn, a Binghamton, NY, native, won in 2:30.43, besting David Richards (Houghton, NY; 2:34.09), Matthew Cohen (Ardmore; 2:40.56), Tom Lipsie (Indiana; 2:44.47) and Drew Nesbitt (Lancaster; 2:48.23).
 
   Mount Holly husband and wife top finishers in Harrisburg Marathon (Cumberland.com)
Fred Joslyn, 31, of Mount Holly Springs, crossed the finish first, clocking in at 2:30:43.71, a pace of 5:45 per mile. His wife, 30-year-old Shelby, finished first among female competitors, running at a 7:17/mile pace, crossing the downtown finish line in 3:10:57.73.

The Harrisburg marathon now in it's 42nd year will take place on Sunday, November 8. Second street will be closed and detoured on Sunday race day from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and will be similar to the detour for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. There will be several other road closures in Downtown Harrisburg from 8-9 a.m., but traffic will be let through during a break in the runners.

Josh Beck placed seventh in the Harrisburg Marathon in 2 hours 59 minutes. Impressive. Even more impressive when you consider he pushed Donna Mummert in a wheelchair while doing so. Mummert was diagnosed with ALS in May.

Josh Beck's first Harriburg marathon in 2003 gave his legs some real trouble near the twenty-third mile mark. In 2007 he returned again to run the race in near perfect conditions to win it the overall marathon with a time of 2 hours and 37 minutes. A great way to go out as he will not be running this Sunday.

In 1973 Hap Miller quit smoking and put on 25 pounds in the aftermath. He also watched the first Harrisburg Marathon. Two years later, in 1975, he would run his first of 33 Harriburg Marathons and lose the 25 pounds as a result of his running. At age 65 and retired, Miller will again toe the line for his 34th Harrisburg Marathon this weekend.
