Prince Edward Island Marathon Puts Age Restriction In Place

Tyler Heggie ran the P.E.I. Marathon last fall at the age of nine in about four and a half hours. For 2012 race organizers have placed age restriction on the marathon at the age of 16 with parental consent. Under 16 years may not participate in the marathon.

MacKinnon wins Prince Edward Island Marathon

Mike MacKinnon of Miscouche crossed the finish line in the BMO Nesbitt Burns Prince Edward Island Marathon in a time of 2 hours 39 minutes and 28 seconds. Organizers announced him as a runner in the half marathon at first. He then went back and crossed the line a second time to break the tape.
