Unique race on a very tough course in the wilds of central PA. With 17 finishers in the marathon it's basically a solo run with aid stations, all well stocked and manned by great volunteers, willing to spend up to seven hours by the side of a deserted road. At one point the course veers from the blacktop onto a steep and muddy single-track trail along the side of a sloping hill. You can add thirty minutes to your time for this one. A great challenge.

If you like hills, humidity, solitude, and the chance of stepping on a black snake, this is your race! The people are super friendly and accommodating I allowing any time limit for finishers, but HOLY CRAP, the course was planned by a sadist named Carl who apparently loves long slow steep hills, but also thinks detours up and over a Rocky Mountain is a good idea on a rainy Saturday morning. Oh, and thanks for picking up all of the mile markers before I got to them.
