"There are better courses to run in Utah than here." (about: 2015)

11-50 previous marathons | 1 Mt. Nebo Marathon
COURSE: 3  ORGANIZATION: 1  FANS: 1

This race started out as a half marathon and in recent years tried to expand to a full marathon. It didn't really work that well.

The bus pick up was delayed for no apparent reason, the Porta Potty situation was very sparse and the volunteers along the course were under prepared and not very knowledgeable as to what to do.

The elevation in the first 8 miles will definitely affect those who are not acclimated to high elevation previously. The course was also hilly in the first few miles and that really broke some of the runners who had come presuming that this would be an easy course on which to Boston qualify.

There are better races to run in Utah in September and October. This one really left a lot to be desired.

"Beautiful course" (about: 2015)

50+ previous marathons | 1 Mt. Nebo Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 3  FANS: 1

Many places along the course had breathtaking views. You could see mountains and forests for miles and miles. The organizers fell on their collective faces when they held the buses up for 20-30 minutes after loading. When we finally got to the start area, there were only 4 porta-potties (only three usable) for 175 runners and less than thirty minutes to the start time. Few spectators because the road we ran on was very narrow and winding. The course is wonderful. If they can solve the p-p problem, this could be a very good marathon.
