"Challenging, beautiful, well organized event!" (about: 2014)

| 1 Rocky Mountain High-est Leadville Marathon
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 3 Running at 10,000 feet is definitely a challenge for those of us who live closer to sea level. But, my problems were my own, and not caused by the event! The course was great. The support was great. This is the smallest event I've run in, so I was really amazed at the support and the fact that there were people waiting at the finish of my very slow marathon. The scenery in Leadville makes it all worth while. God did intervene and bring us a short thunderstorm and about 45 minutes of 35 mph headwinds. But, other than that, the weather was absolutely perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I hope they hold the event again. I would come back. | |

"Wonderful race" (about: 2014)
50+ previous marathons
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 2014 was first year for this race but these folks have a ton of experience putting on events. Great, safe course. Lots of hills, but what do you expect from Leadville? Organization, aid stations and volunteers were outstanding. If you aren't scared off by the altitude put this one on your calendar. Don't expect spectators lining the course but I can't say enough good things about the people who ran and provided support. |
