C. from upstate NY (4/7/2015) "Awesome small marathon" (about: 2015) 11-50 previous marathons \| 1 Trap Pond Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 1 I loved this marathon for many reasons & it is low-key, down-home, beautiful course, great race directors, and well-supported with aid-stations. If you need crowd support, this isn't your race!

B. from Delaware (4/2/2015) "Flat Trail Course, Low Key, Highly Recommend" (about: 2015) 11-50 previous marathons \| 1 Trap Pond Marathon COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 3 This was my first trail marathon. There were fewer than 100 runners for the 3 events. It is a no-frills and low-key event which I enjoy from time to time. The course was crushed gravel and very forgiving. Marathoners run 5 loops, 50K run 6 loops, and half-marathoners run 3 loops. There is an out-and-back for the marathon and 50K to make up the distance. The race directors and volunteers did a great job in supporting the runners especially in the cold (real feel 15 degrees) and windy conditions.

(about: 2015) 11-50 previous marathons \| 1 Trap Pond Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 I actually did the 50k (one loop more) than the marathon and enjoyed the experience. Used it for my 50 state ultra effort. Great aid stations, 3 on a 4.5m loop, basic t-shirt and medal, but well organized in a very nice setting.

Z. from New York City (3/8/2015) "Low Key - Relaxing - Worth It" (about: 2014) 11-50 previous marathons \| 1 Trap Pond Marathon COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 3 Did this last year, am considering again if schedule permits. Course is almost flat with crushed rock - very forgiving, well marked, and easy to navigate. Some would say boring because there aren't many fans but I found it serene and motivating to run alone and enjoy the woods which are becoming rarer experiences for me. Very few fans so I gave it a 3 stars but the fans that were there were made up for it. People fishing, camping, is a really nice atmosphere. Organization was no frills but I list it as great as Frank and Mike had all the major things covered. I am slow and never felt like I was imposing on anyone or rushed. There were fewer than ten people for the marathon which made the experience wonderful for me and guaranteed by top ten finish which I'm still bragging about! These guys organize other runs too and I plan on getting to some of those. Check their website. If you want an 'event' with fancy stuff, huge expo, bands at each mile etc. this isn't the one for you, but if you want the opposite - a small friendly run with good energy - I'd strongly recommend.
