(about: 2018) 50+ previous marathons \| 1 Sweltering Summer Marathon (BURCS) COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 2 The race featured runners of all ages and abilities. We all pushed each other through. Loved meeting so many maniacs on the course! The aid stations were well stocked and the volunteers did a great job. Lots of parking available and cheap hotels are nearby. The rain helped me get through this race as did the eclectic music choices!
E. T. from Vienna, VA (10/28/2016) "Awesome!" (about: 2015) 11-50 previous marathons \| 1 Sweltering Summer Marathon (BURCS) COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 I ran this race in 2015. I loved the DJ, the quickness of the laps, the frequent viewings of the fast runners, water table, my car, port a potties, and friendliness of the runners. I loved that there was no real worry about the time limit. I never felt alone but it wasn't crowded. I didn't have to carry anything...table right there! Quick get away at the end with parking lot so close. Cool t-shirt and unique wooden medal on nylon cord. I would do it again for sure!

S. from Tennessee (8/18/2014) "A small, well-organized race" (about: 2014) 6-10 previous marathons \| 1 Sweltering Summer Marathon (BURCS) COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 A very small (fewer than 100 runners) race with a marathon or 8-hour option. Runners run multiple laps on a roughly one-third mile track. The track was rutted in places due to recent rains, but the race was very well organized with a lot of support and food, including some vegan options. Everyone involved was exceptionally nice. As always in these sorts of races, my GPS measured distance diverged substantially from lap-counted distance.

(about: 2014) 11-50 previous marathons COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Table space provided for each competitors water bottles plus they refill them for you automatically (my favorite amenity. There was plenty of room around path to set up my own aid station plus they had a big food table with vegan pizza! nice handmade medals and prizes.

This event gave me that opportunity. The organization was outstanding with some new twists that other run managers might consider. Fun event, great people, and a cool city to be in.

Terrific volunteers provide aid and encouragement while runners strive to achieve their goals. This was my second full marathon and first time running a 50K. The day flew by because of the great atmosphere and fellow runners. I highly recommend this race.

Yes you run around circles, but it doesn't sound as bad as you think. The Race Director is very cool guy too. Awesome awards to winners. Chip timing. Great event.
