"Easy trail run, great swag (tech shirt and medal)." (about: 2012)

Congratulations to Steve and Paula for adding two more successful events to their New Year Day Texas Marathon (this run and the 'Day After' run). This race was very well attended with a wide range of runner abilities. Swag was great (a large duffle, a colorful tech shirt and hat, and a 1.1 pound 6in finishers medal). Aid stations were close and well stocked even late in the race. Only race I ran where there was not a long line at the porta-potties. The 5hr energy aid station was a nice addition. A race geared towards the runners having a great experience. This was a trail race and the fans were finished runners cheering for fellow runners still on the course.

Another great event by Steve and Paula Boone.
A great event and a terrific venue.
The sneaky part was the 'Mayan Miles' used to measure the course that took longer than expected. The weather was beautiful.
All the details to putting on a great event were taken care of from the adequate porti-cans with inexhaustible toilet paper, the terrific volunteers, several running legends, and the large number of marathon maniacs to keep things interesting.
This first in the 2 day series had fabulous perts such as 1.1 pound finishers metal, beautiful T-shirt,running cap, and a large duffel bag.
Pizza and cookies and sodas followed the run.
Ought to have it here more often.

First time doing trail marathon. Race was very well organized. Goody bags and medal are first class.
