Nice countryside marathon (about: 2011)
Course: 5 Organization: 5 Fans: 2
A. U. from Linköping, Sweden (5/2/12)
11-50 previous marathons | 2 Båstad Marathons

I ran this race in 2010 and in 2011.

The race is a one loop circuit through the countryside on the Bjäre peninsula. Very nice scenery. Youll pass farms, groves, small villages and two golf courses. Start and finish next to Båstad harbor. The race starts with an 8 kilometer long incline (beautiful view from the top), then about 1 km downhill, after that the race is quite flat until 30 km. First uphill, then a very steep downhill slope down to the sea (beautiful view once again). The last bit is along the beach back to Båstad (partly as a track through forest).

Not many spectators, but they are committed.

It is still a quite small race. There were about 200 finishers in 2011.

After the race there is a BBQ for runners and friends.

Not a PB marathon, but a very friendly summer marathon.
