This was my first time racing the Fiddlers Marathon and I'm glad I did. The course was new this year and was a point to point route traveling through several small communities. The terrain was challenging with a lot of rolling hills and the scenery was varied with some very nice coastal views. The organizers and volunteers took great care of the runners. They had a small expo the day before, a pasta dinner was included with the entry, they drove us to the start in a nice tour bus and the finish area was well equiped with lots of food, drink and entertainmant. Cape Bretoner's are well known for their hospitality and they really showed it at this event. The one negative was that the aid stations were a bit far apart at times. I did bring this to the attention of the race director who seemed very open to runner's feedback. Overall, I found this to be a great small town race that I would return to.

Found the 5 k route dangerous (about: 2012)

Several of us who ran the 5 km race had to be extra cautious of the poor condition of Ferry Street and Intercolonial.,,Many small pot holes and uneven pavement...We also wondered why young children (8 years old) were racing .We had several children quickly turn around in front of us and run back into the runners looking for their parents.Dangerous.
Other than this we had a great time and found the volunteers to be exceptional ..Look forward to next year ..and hope that the course changes..Great job committee membersj

Fun, flat, beautiful! (about: 2009)

The course takes you along the harbor - up one side of the water and down the other. It's beautiful and you get some really nice breezes to cool you off. Water stations are well stocked (marathoners get extra goodies) and there were tons of volunteers with smiles on their faces. The pre-race ceilidh is a nice touch, too.

Great race, great course - looking forward to 2010 (about: 2009)

It was a great overall experience. This race is only 5 years-old, so it's still growing in numbers/popularity. For anyone who is looking for a PB or to qualify for Boston, this would be the place to get it. The course is flat, and since the weather is good (late September), it's the perfect mix!

An amazing run! (about: 2010)
