The course has rolling hills along luscious greenery of up-state NY. Quite nice as far as scenery goes.
The course has two stretches on a dirt/gravel road, and since it was raining for us, these stretches were quite sloppy and dirty. Furthermore, since it is a loop, there is no net elevation change, but the course does roll. I would have liked it flatter, but it did not have any killer hills that left a lasting impression. Otherwise I loved the course.
Aid stations were plentiful. Organization was good. The organizer was able to provide a course and elevation map when I asked for it. It would be nice to post it on the web page for the race.
This is definitely a small race. Somewhere around 50 runners for the marathon. It was quite a peaceful start. The only spectators along the way were the volunteers at the aid stations and a few people who drove along with some runners and stopped every mile or so to cheer. The weather probably kept the spectating down.
Overall I would recommend this marathon.
