This is one of these marathons with a city in the title but which doesn't actually have a course through the city. Instead you run around bays on the outskirts of the city and it can get pretty dramatic at times with the wind howling and the waves crashing. And trust me, the wind does howl. Its a pretty flat course but the wind factor will slow you right down at times. Very small marathon and so you will be on your own at times. Organisation can't be faulted except that I guess I could moan about there only being markers every 5k. No free momentos, they even take your number when you finish, but this was a good although quite tough marathon without the razzmatazz. Oh yeah, you can see a building near the finish while you're still miles away and I found its stubborn refusal to get any closer despite my best efforts particularly sadistic.
