 "My first Marathon! Amazing Experience" (about: 2011)

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 4 This was my first Marathon. I have decided to run it here because my girlfriend is living in Lyon and it is a very nice city, I have worked there for some months. Good organization: panels with the distance every 2K , directions well signaled. Refreshments were really good, every 5K, with lots of food and water. The start was together with the 10k and half marathon, 15000 people. So it was very nice, just a bit crowded. Anyway lovely atmosphere. Not a lot of of spectators, but very supportive and warm! | |

 "Great Small Marathon in a Beautiful City" (about: 2010)

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 3 FANS: 3 Flat course, small by size (under 1,000 in the marathon plus around 2,000 people in 10K and 1/2 marathon). The first 4 miles were somewhat confusing when the course took runners several times around the central square and one had to be careful to follow the signs for his race. After that it was really nice run through the park and along the banks of river Rhone. No problem with the water and sports drinks; enthusiastic but small crowds were very supportive. One bummer: no pasta party in the gourmet capital of France!? |
