"Small race with some negative points" (about: 2000)

As mentioned in a previous comment, there were very few spectators and we passed many homes. I ran the 1/2 marathon as a break between races and was amazed to have paid the same price as the marathon and received nothing in the end (we even had to pay extra to receive a shirt!) Two positive notes: very nice people running race and a good humor truck at finish to provide treats.

"Flat, fast, very small marathon" (about: 2000)

COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 3

This was a small, flat, well organized race. There were very few fans, it seemed to be the same people, driving to a new area to cheer on their family member, but they would cheer for everyone who ran by, which was very nice and encouraging. The volunteers were wonderful. There was an aid station about every 2 miles, stocked with water and lemon-lime Gatorade. The race was somewhat in the country, so traffic was not blocked off, and there were no porta-johns. (So, I hope you do not mind relieving yourself in the weeds or sharing the road with cars, if either of these bother you, then this is not your race.) Overall, I really enjoyed this race, it was very small and intimate, and well organized. The only thing I did not like about it was the fact that we started the race at the same time as the 1/2 marathoner's, but their starting line was behind ours, so you get passed by the 1/2 marathoners for the first 6 miles of your race. It made me feel like I was in their way, and was somewhat annoying at times, but overeall, was a great run!! I plan on doing it again next year.
