"Fun place to run" (about: 2004)

I stopped by for this race because my flight was going through Dallas. What a nice, friendly little run! Everyone in town made me very glad I stopped by to run the Dallas Trails Marathon. The trails at White Rock Lake are obviously the place to run, bike, in-line skate, you name it in Dallas.

Thanks for a great race!

"Very well organized race" (about: 2003)

I have run over 34 marathons and three ultras, and the Dallas Trails Marathon is near the top of my list. It is a small race, but it is well done. I have run it 8 years in a row now. The race director cares about runners and it shows. The course is an out-and-back course around White Rock Lake and includes the Dallas North Trail. It is a scenic race. The post-race party is a blast, and includes pizza and beer. You can't beat it!

"an all around average marathon" (about: 2003)

There could have been one or two more water stations on the course especially in the last 7-8 miles. This race is very lonely, you can go miles without seeing another runner. The post race pizza and beer was great though

"Great race, beautiful scenary, worth the flight" (about: 2003)

I was supposed to run the D.C. marathon on the same morning, and when I found out it was cancelled I was devastated. My boyfriend ran with me to support me and did not even train. The course was beautiful and the other runners were very supportive, and the weather was perfect. We finished and have a great memory of the Dallas Trails

"Small, well-organized event" (about: 2002)

COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 3

The course is nice, partly along White Rock lake and partly through the woods (in local parks). Not a crowded event. On the flip side not many spectators either. Well organized. I am very happy I ran my first marathon here.

"surprisingly nice" (General Comments)

COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 1

This was the last of 5 marathons since November to complete the Roger Soler Texas Challenge for me. I didn't know what to expect, but this small, very well organized race was a joy. There had been flooding the day before, and the race directors warned of lots of mud on the trails, which there was. But the route is very pretty and the day was perfect.
