"Perfect race for the mission - to BQ" (about: 2014)

Awesome marathon perfect for the mission - a last chance to run a qualifying time for Boston! Great loop course that is mostly level. I really liked having the tables out that you could stash your bottles with special mixes and pick one up on each pass of course loop. Not huge spectator crowds, but they are their in key locations and very enthusiastic...even the staff and volunteers cheer you on! I didn't have my best running game that day, but it was good enough to post 7-min faster than age standard qualifying time and I loved being able to use their laptops and submit registration application post-finish!

It was all you said it would be...superb support for trying to qualify for Boston. You delivered on all the special things that were extra helpful to run a race and get your best time. The small size, names on bibs, the gels available all during the race, the elite water table, the hydration and the course loops. This gave runners every advantage. But the VOLUNTEERS were what made the race. They were with you every step of the way. Since you would see them every loop, it was like seeing a friend every loop that was pulling for you. The man who would catch your water bottle was AWESOME. Looked forward to chucking my bottle at him and his big smile....he sure kept me going!!!

I was worried about the three mile loops, I had never done a loop marathon before. But, it was great! The loops were long enough to not be boreing and still allow you to be familiar with the course. This also made for very good spectator interaction- I will do this race again.

"Perfect no-frills marathon to get a BQ" (about: 2014)

What attracted me to this race was its simplicity. I wanted to BQ, not get the big marathon experience. The race was very well organized and I enjoyed the multiple loop course. All the volunteers were great and I was never wanting for water or a Clif shot gel.

This is now my favorite marathon experience.....from registration to the end of the race, I felt supported and encouraged and continued to believe that my race goal was in reach. I have so many happy memories that I get goosebumps when I think about this race. I am so happy with my results and satisfied with how the race was organized and run that I literally have not stopped smiling or slept since Sat.! Thanks for an amazing experience!

Great race! It took 4 years to qualify and finally did it with -4:12 to spare. It helped knowing had my husband and friends there, I could see them over and over 8 times.
My only complaint the pacers weren't holding signs I had ask who pacer and what time shooting for? My watch decided not to work is why I was so clueless. I would highly recommend it if your shooting for that BQ!!!

"Fast course well supported race" (about: 2014)

It is a 3.25 mile 8 loop course with slight negative elevation of 40 feet, basically very flat course. In addition to providing water/Gatorade and GU, it has elite drink where you can drink and drop off 100 yards later. In the loop, you can use GU every 3.25 miles, and alternate with your elite drink to provide optimum nutrition and hydration for the run. The race is well organized and supported.

I worried that a multiple lap course would become boring but I couldn't have been more wrong. There was enough variation to keep things interesting and it actually worked for me to be familiar with what was ahead in the final laps when things got serious. Special thanks to pacer Elena for keeping me on task and getting me to the finish. Great organization and a level of personal attention from the volunteers that big races couldn't possibly deliver. 16 minute BQ and I couldn't be happier!

"Flat & Fast BQ Course that makes everyone an Elite" (about: 2014)

Signed up for this after faltering in the heat of Boston this past year. Was skeptical of a small town race but after an awesome summer of training, I PR'd with a 2:48.
If you do not mind running loops, which I did not, this is perfect for you. There was a small 37 ft hill on each lap but other than that it was flat and fairly shady (it was mostly cloudy on raceday). Elite water bottles for everyone made it perfect and there were 2 other spots for water gels and gatorade as well. I loved the 6:30 start as that is when I do most of my long runs and it would have avoided heat if there had not been the cold front.
Would recommend this race to anyone who wants a fast course to BQ. The race organizers acted like my friend and I knew them for years and were so proud we got our times, continuously thanking me for coming out.
