This marathon was well organized and had numerous water stops. The only negative wasn't their fault. Texas law doesn't allow beer to be distributed without food before noon on Sundays. I had to purchase a sausage that I didn't eat to get the free beer.

I have run a couple of inaugural events. One of the best things I can say about this one is that if I didn't know it was the first one, I'd have never guessed.
The course was challenging, with rolling hills, but it was a very fast course. I trimmed 12 minutes off my previous best.
The crowd wasn't huge, but they were very supportive.

Great little race, I hope it continues to grow. The course is gently rolling from beginning to end so it's important to be ready for hills but it's not a tough course. The biggest, longest hill of the course comes right around mile 16 or 17 and it really seemed to take a toll on people. The course is also reasonably scenic and contains enough variety to keep from getting tiresome. Plenty of aid stations and support. This is a marathon I'd like to do again.

This was the inaugural Army Marathon. It was very well organized with plenty of water stations along the route. The course was a point to point route starting in Killeen and ending in Temple. I hope next year they have tracking status for friends and family. I especially liked staying at the Shiloh Inn in Killeen. The marathon start was at the Convention Center next door. It started at 6:30am which was so nice to get up and just walk out the front of the hotel to the start line. The early morning start was wonderful because in Texas you just never know the weather. We had perfect running weather. The temp was 50 at start time. Great job to everyone involved. I hope this marathon continues to grow every year.

A well organized and well executed race! Great volunteer force along a mostly flat and fast rural course. Military vibe makes this race unique. Race is point to point with shuttle back to start.
