This race was well organized. Everyone was very friendly. We found that the one mile laps actually helped us to stay focused. We had fun and got our best time.

This was one of the most well organized races that I have ever done. The RD was so accomodating, and the volunteers were so helpful. The course was a 1-mile lap in a nice park...very well maintained. There was a .2-mile loop with the first lap so that the marathon distance would be accurate. There were 3 big screens at the finish of the lap so your count was well displayed. There were also volunteers who kept monitored our counts and logged them manually with each lap. There was NO LITTER! I was so impressed. The RD had a system for refilling our labeled water bottles...and it worked! It was nice to see the course so litter-free! No messy aid stations! This is definitely a marathon to put on your list, especially if you are in the 50 States Club as I am! I also met a lot of nice runners as we passed each other along the course. I would do this one again! WELL DONE!!!!

Though it might sound boring to run 1-mile loops, it NEVER was! The crowd support is amazing, the camaraderie of this race was exponentially better than others I've run, and being able to set up your own fuel station is great. Well-organized, and just an incredibly fun time. This was my 2nd marathon, but a new PR. If my schedule allows, I'll be back next year!

For a first time marathon, Joe Ely and his team did a great job with organizing this race. The course was a 1 mile loop around a park, running it 26 times. The crew at the start/finish line were always ready for us and the clock was clearly visible to check splits. Absolutley flat course was run with runner/walkers spread out along the loop. The theme was to be eco-friendly and not have any paper cups. This idea worked well with the volunteer learning our numbers quickly and always being ready with fluids. Less than 100 runners, so small but it made very personal. Joe did a great job of e-mailing runners and making us feel very welcome.

Course is more fun and beautiful than 1 loop course sounds. Volunteers were exceptional. The details of the coordination down to the bibs, the awards, and the aid stations was impeccable. The course winds through and around a park so other than the hairpin turn, this course and race was something that someone looking for a fun, well-run event will want to participate in. Free photos and great website will give you strong idea about what to expect/plan for. Cheers!

Although the idea of running 26 laps is a little daunting, the course was awesome because you could see most of it from anywhere you stood. The idea of passing and being passed throughout the race actually made it easier mentally since I lost track of my relative position. It also provided the opportunity to meet people! The volunteers were wonderful and for a first race I thought everything went without a hitch (and if there was one, I never knew it!)

This race was a DNF for me, but that was totally my fault and no reflection on the race. Extremely well organized, very enthusiastic volunteers, and a totally closed course on a 1-mile loop. The weather was perfect, around 45 degrees. Many spectators and relay teams set up tents around th start/finish line. The loop got boring at times, bu it was also exciting to be able to watch the winners as they passed me time and time again. A very fun race, and I'll be back next year to redeem myself (with better discipline on my pacing).

First lap 1.2 miles followed by 25 1 mile laps. All in a park, no traffic. One slight elevation. I thought 26 laps might be boring but it was great to have so many passing (lapping) me and cheering me on. Runners all friendly. Since I am a back-of-the-packer, it was nice to have company to the very end. My hubby was able to meet me every mile and sometimes in between. We left 2 water bottles and the volunteers took care of them every lap, filling them with water or Gatorade when needed. It worked very well and there was no paper cup litter. The cleanest race I have ever seen. The race directr was great. I got flowers and a wonderful cookie for being the last female finisher. What a surprize. The medal is a cross cut of a 4' diameter shiny recycled pipe. Unique race start to finish. I would do this one again.

I've ran 30 marathons - super big (including Boston) & fairly small. I wanted to add my comments to Circular Logic while they were still fresh - just ran it this morning!

Overall, it deserves many kudos! This was one of my favorites by far. If you are looking for a race director who is involved & really cares about the runners, this is for you! Joe & crew made each runner feel like they were guests rather than paying participants.

The course (for a one-mile loop course) was good. No roads & very flat. It was nicely broken into what seemed like quarter mile sections so you were never bored with a big straight-away. AND...turns were minimal. The course was also wide enough to pass without trouble.

Water stations were 'green'...you brought your own bottle, the volunteers filled it, you could carry it w/ you for 100 yards or so while drinking, drop it in a bin & they'd have it filled for you on the next lap. Very cool!

Spectators - not a ton, but on a mile loop, that's perfect. Those that were there were loud & happy. My family got to see me every lap, which never happens on the larger courses.

Volunteers - major props here! They were terrific! They were all very much into the runners & never seemed to tire. They always had a smile on their face.

One of the best things about this race (for a loop course) was that they had volunteers assigned to a group of bib numbers at the 'finish' line (which you crossed 26 times :) Your volunteer would call out your name, the number of the lap you were completing & cheer for you. After a few laps, the volunteers would recognize you & I could hear my volunteer calling my name from about a 1/4 mile out. They also had a wide screen display of your name, number & your lap count each lap. This was great! They even had a bell lap for each runner!

Overall, I was very happy with this event & hope that it continues. I would love to return to run it again next year!
