"A fast marathon" (about: 2011)

This was my 21 marathon in about 10 years. I've done some bigger, and I even did a smaller race. I have done a couple of so called fast marathons ( Eugene Oregon, and Hamilton Ontario Canada) , but I must say, this one sure felt faster. I did not qualify for Boston, but that's me, just not fast enough. I did PR by 8 min. and short of BQ by 3 min..
Although they did not close the streets, they were able to stop the traffic, so that there was never a time that I had to stop and wait for any cars.

Just ran this inaugural event and could not have been more impressed. I signed up cause it's a gentle downhill and focuses on being environmentally friendly, but was shocked by the customer service from the race directors and volunteers. They really went above and beyond. I've run dozens of marathons and can easily say this is my third favorite (behind Boston and Big Sur), and is without a doubt the best marathon in Southern California. If you're looking for a fast BQ, I highly recommend this one, it's the fastest and easiest downhill marathon I've done.
