This was my second marathon. The hills late in the race were killer, but fun. If ever in the area later, I will run it again. Fans were great along the whole route, and the view along the course made the hills easier to take. This race was a great replacement for the Blue Angel Marathon since NAS was damaged.

Any chance of changing the last 8-10 mile loop? Add a Bay Bridge loop at the beginning and end flat or downhill.

Great race. Well marked course and scenic as well. I absolutely loved the technical T-shirt and getting my time stamped at the end. I only did the half-marathon, but had a wonderful time. Will definitely try to come back and do the marathon.

I've run the half two years in a row. It is challenging course, scenic, and it shows off Pensacola. I have yet to run the full, but I'm a local so I know the course and expect to run it next year. It's a great run. Roads were blocked and the course was well marked.

Loved the HOMEMADE cookies at the finish line!! Participants themselves were very encouraging to one another - a most enjoyable experience in every way!

I recently started back to running and have been active in many of the local races since September. The 1/2 marathon was a great challenge for me and I met my goal with satisfaction. The experience made me realize that 2007 will be my first full marathon and another challenge.

I was impressed from start to finish with everyone involved. I felt encouraged and supported by workers as well as spectators. It would be nice to see more advertisement of the race, especially from a local standpoint. Many in the community were unaware of the marathon until seeing the write-up in the paper following the event.

I was pleased with the shirt from the race as it is not the typical (often times) boring t-shirt. I have been wearing it during training runs. The medal I received at the finish line was a nice token by which to remember my experience.

Thanks for a fun time.

"Will be a great event one day" (about: 2006)

Glad I was able to participate in the first Pensacola Marathon... very well organized. Not many people watching, but this is because it is still a new event. I felt that the route was a little dangerous in spots; Highway 98 had several places with very uneven surfaces, rocks, and a few pieces of "road kill." Overall, I would do it again.

I did not race this marathon and just ran for fun. It was a lot of fun. Talked to everybody along the way and made the whole race worth it.

This was my 1st Pensacola Half and I was pleasantly surprised. The technical t-shirt was cool. The medal was big. The volunteers were encouraging. I thought it was very generous of the Downtown YMCA to open its doors so runners could take a warm shower.

When you do a good job the first time, it sets an expected standard. Paul Epstein and he crew supassed it with the second Pensacola Marathon. Put together last year in a few short weeks, this year's marathon had time for even more planning and exposure, and a chance to double the number of participants. Get into this great event while the entry fees are reasonable ($45/$65) and include a pasta dinner and another full meal after the race, a Dri-Release shirt and large finisher's medal. This is a marathon put together by runners who love the sport and know how to make you feel special.

The course is challanging with a few hills, but the scenery makes up for it. Breathtaking views of Pensacola Bay are sure to awe even a local runner like me. Yes, I am from Pensacola and proud to tell everyone this IS the Florida marathon. I know they will not be disappointed. This was my 100th marathon and Paul made it a special day my family and I will remember forever. Again, kudos to Paul, his crew, volunteers and race sponsors.
