 "Best Scenery Ever" (about: 1993)
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 3 FANS: 5 I ran this marathon eight years ago. Quite an experience! Fairly flat amd fast and the middle of the course is run along the ocean.Scenery along the ocean is breathtaking. That is worth the run. Hopefully the water stations increased and/or improved. Great support from the Palermitani. Along with fresh fruit, the locals even brought out mini-sandwiches and vino for the runners to eat ! The police cut the race short after 4 1/2 hours though. Rounded up all the mid to longer runners and made them bus it to the finish. What a drag. I only had 5K to go. Last leg presents some hill work. |
