 "A must do Marathon" (General Comments)
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 5 I just had to add my comments after negative comments of Mass. USA runner. My wife and I ran this marathon in 1999 and it was GREAT. Where would an aid station volunteer run a mile or so with you to keep you motivated? That's what they did when my wife was running out of gas and it really did help. That is why I rated Spectators five stars as there are very few out on the course but it is the quality that counts. The race is small but for $20 you sure get a lot for your money and that's Canadian dollars as well. We hope to return this year as it is a Great Marathon held in one of the most beautiful places in the world. The people are so friendly and the Race Director and his wonderful group of volunteers will make it a great marathon experience, try it you will not be disappointed. | |

 "nice race, but no results posted" (about: 2000)
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 3 FANS: 2 This was the 94th marathon I've done, and the first outside of the U.S. It was combined with a half marathon, and most of the runners were local to southern Nova Scotia. Fantastic seafood chowder at the finish, nice awards. Biggest problem I had with this race was that complete results were not made available after the race. They posted the names and times of the first place male and female finishers on their website, and that was it (and that really rankles my a-- because I came in second!!!). If they want to attract runners from a distance then they should mail a comlete results listing to all finishers. |
