   Saitta battles to Boulder Marathon win (Dailyl Camera)
After winning the Boulder Marathon in 2004 and 2005, Jason Saitta returned to win the 2008 edition of the 26.2 mile race in 2 hours, 34 minutes and 38 seconds. The 23 year old had a high fever the night before the race and immediately sat down after the event to receive medical treatment.

The Boulder Backroads Marathon will have about 2,000 participants this weekend. Most of the athletes should be resting up this week as the training and mileage of preparing for the race should have been done in the previous few months. Jeff Mason, race director, will continue the tradition of organizing water stops and fuel stations along the scenic route.

Johannes Rudolph won the Boulder Marathon in 2:56:44. Laura Bruess ran a 3:13:49 to win the women's division of the marathon for the third time, adding to her victories from 2002 and 2003.

   Boulder's Bruess captures Backroads Marathon Crown (Boulder Daily Camera)
Laura Bruess of Boulder took the women's field in the Boulder Backroads Marathon on Sunday, wearning the No. 1 bib. Bruess finished in 3:16:25 after leading most of the race. Brazilian runner Edenilson Depaiva won the race in 2:48:05 after a tough battle.
