Though no one would think it possible, there are some nice runs possible in Shanghai, through the old French Quarter. I start mine on Huaihai Rd and Wulumuqi Rd, next to the American Consulate. Head west on Huaihai to Huashan. There you can run in the bicycle lane. Pass the Xingguo Hotel, and continue to where the road veers right. Go another 1/2k to Anfu Rd, turning right and heading back to Wulumuqi. Turn left and continue to Fuxing. Turn right and head all the way down to the end. Double back, turning right on Wukang Rd. Continue to Hunan, turn left, and back to Huaihai. Turn left, and go down about a 1/2k to your starting point. In all, about a 7.5k run. There are others available all throughout the French Quarter, where are cars are fewer, streets are able to accomodate runners, and the pollution is less omnipresent. |
