This is a fairly challenging course with some difficult hills. I like it because there isn't too much traffic considering it is right in a busy part of San Antonio. I spend most of the time on the street but there is always a safe place to jump off on the side of the road. Just make sure to run opposing traffic. I start at Culebra and Pipers Creek about a mile outside loop 410 because this is the flattest part of the course and it allows time for a decent warmup. Head west on Culebra and turn left on Timber View. Turn right on Star Creek where you will encounter the first difficult uphill at about mile 2. Turn left on Village Parkway, Right on Misty Rock, then left on Westover Hills for some more hills. You can turn left on Hunt Lane for a short run, continue straight on Westover Hills then turn left on Rogers for a medium distance, or right on Wiseman to add an extra couple of miles. If you turn on Wiseman, go past Chase, then turn left on Rogers to come back across Westover Hills which will connect to the medium route. At this point you will be running parallel to 151 and you'll hit a few more hills. Turn left on Military to come back across where the short route meets up at Hunt Lane. Continue on Military until it ends and turn left on Reed. This will bring you back all the way to Culebra and allows for a two mile cool down. Short run is approximately 5 miles, medium is about 7 and long is about 10. You can mix it up by exploring some of the neighborhoods to add a few miles.
