Pros (2004): well organized, bands on course (though less than 40 bands advertised), lots of water and Gatorade, good crowd support,large turnout that never got overwhelming, great web page and email/mail/phone info and support; wonderful weather (60 at start with light breeze, cloud cover, but humid), running Elvises, timings, finish area superb; buses back downtown; great city to be in, reduced hotel rates (stay at the Westgate downtown, on mile 5, and across from Horton Plaza/2 blocks from Gaslamp and easy walk to Expo Sat., then to Hotel del after)... all in all, a great race, and a PR for many, including myself.
Cons: Course leaves something to be desired in such a beautiful city; could use more R and R; concert |
