Twice through the sleepy town on packed sand streets is the perfect way to start the day here. From the center of the island located about 25 miles from Belize City to the cut on the North then South to the landing strip and back... twice makes about 5 miles. The sun comes up around 5:00, and the streets have only a few people on foot or on bicycles at that time. The only motorized vehicles in town are golf carts, farm tractors pulling trailers, and maybe 2 or 3 cars. There is a stop sign in Caye Caulker...just one that I saw anyway. Get your run in early, because you'll get busted for 'fast walking' during the day. I was told ny one of the locals to 'slow down...this is Belize, Man!' You better BelizeIt! Beautiful island and a fabulous place to run before you dive, snorkel or sunbathe.
