Fun Run! The excitement was fantastic with lots of cheering fans. The bands were also lots of fun - although don't expect bands at Every mile. The volunteers were great. tons of water and sports drinks along the way. They only have one gel station however. The weather was fantastic! (I don'tknow if it was typical weather, but it was COOL the entire race for me-and I finished in 4 h 45 m!) The course was flat as well. The spirit of the runners was great. (lots of costumes, interesting people to watch while you run) A few criticism are that they need MANY more port-a-potties along the course. And being picked up at the finish area by people who were spectating along the run was somewhat of a fiasco for some (limited parking I guess) Overall, It was a fantastic first marathon. I was pumped-up the entire way and certainly plan on doing this one again someday! |
