Actually runs from Apopka to Ocoee to Winter Garden to the county line with Lake County. A bike / running trail that is nice and wide, goes through some nice residential and rural areas. Parts of it are well shaded. Enough people around to feel secure, but not really crowded. Several water stops and potties along the way. I like starting at mile 5 (Winter Garden Station) or mile 7 (Chapin Station), which have good parking and nice facilities. At these two stops, families can hang out and enjoy playground, basketball, tennis, type activities.
Mile zero (at Orange County / Lake County line at highway 438) has bike rentals, and I think maybe even roller blades.
The course has a few rolling hills, but is mostly flat.
Total length is approx. 18-20 miles, but is slated to get longer on the north end (in Apopka) as it is connected to another trail toward Rock Springs.
Highly recommended place for a nice long run or bike ride. |
