This is an old railroad bed that now has dirt pack -very wide path. Winds along a river, climb starts after about 18 miles in Damascus and continues to Whitetop Mountain. Only crosses a road 2 times in the whole run. Cross over beautiful wooden bridges and you really feel like you are alone with nature. There is a marathon here in the Spring - very small.
