I ran my first ever marathon at Wards Island Park on June 24th 2001. Thanks to the race officials from the Sri Chinmoy Marathon team. They did a wonderful job. It was a great marathon. I'd recommend this to a first timer.
Run Description: The course is flat. Each runner has to loop through the park 26 times.
Wards Island park is located directly beneath the Triboro Bridge in Manhattan. The fees are nominal. They support, aid and encouragement that the Sri Chinmoy team provided was just awesome. |
